THE WORLD’S MOST PHOTOGRAPHED PEAK!
We don’t know if this is an official fact but we can’t think of a mountain with such visitor numbers where people spend days skiing, hiking or just using the lift system around it. Surely nobody leaves Zermatt without a camera or phone full of Matterhorn photographs?
Wherever you are in the Zermatt area, the Matterhorn is usually the most prominent peak and continually cries out for you to grab endless snaps.
So where do you go to take the best photographs of it?
Hirli
The Hirli chair gets you close to the base of the mountain. An impressive view of the Hornli ridge.
Stafelalp
Way out on run 52 from Schwarzsee. You get a great view of the Matterhorn north face towering above.
Blauherd
Near the top of the chairlift from Gant. The perfect Instagram shot? Sitting in a wooden heart with the Matterhorn behind.
Rothorn
Anywhere in the Sunnegga area really. But ideally up high at Rothorn. It’s the classic postcard shot!
From the air
Take a flight with Air Zermatt for a unique view and to get up close and personal with the peak!
