This is one of Zermatt’s most sought after restaurants. While the hype might suggest it stands out more than it does, there’s no denying the combination of chic style, creative menu and perfect Matterhorn views make this a fantastic place to stop for lunch.
The eponymous Vrony runs a wonderfully tight ship. Service is efficient and friendly and the food is consistently excellent.
The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. From the veal filet steak to the mountain cheese ravioli, there are rustic elements transformed with flair by the kitchen. The signature dish is the Vrony burger and it doesn’t disappoint.
The rustic building has been transformed with cool décor and creative touches by her brother Heinz (a famous local artist / architect). The terrace has sun late in the day and is a perfect place to hang out and rest the legs. So much so that it’s not unusual for reclining skiers to be shooed off such that they don’t miss the last lift back up to Sunnegga.
