There are 38 peaks around Zermatt that are over 4000m. While the Matterhorn gets all the attention, don’t ignore the rest!
View from Klein Matterhorn
The view from the viewing platform on top is spectacular! All our mountains plus the Italian and French Alps. Mont Blanc features, 45 miles away to the west and the Eiger, 45 miles to the north. If you believe the hype (we don’t), you can even see Mt Elbrus on a clear day.
View from Gornergrat
Right off the train, epic views across to the Monte Rosa, Lyskamm, Castor and Pollux. Look west to the beautiful panorama.
View from Hohtalli
Head round behind the lift station and take in the view of the glaciers and the Monte Rosa massif. Try to spot the Monte Rosa hut. The Dufour peak (4634m) is the highest point in Switzerland.
View from Trockener Steg
Look south to the Dom and Taschhorn. The Dom (4545m) is the highest mountain entirely in Switzerland.
