This is a gem. The 100m wander down the path from the piste is worth the effort and gives the feeling of being in amongst the old farm buildings. The terrace is one of the best in Zermatt as it’s completely south facing and has perfect Matterhorn views. Inside the rustic feel gives the Findlerhof an ambiance that is unmatched in Zermatt.
Franz and Heidi have run this for decades but have recently handed the reigns to their equally talented son, Franki. The service is top notch.
The food is an elegant take on traditional dishes. From the mountain quiche to the grilled meats, they’re packed with flavour to match the surroundings.
Definitely one for the ‘must eat here’ list.
Ski the blue run (6) from Sunnegga to Findeln. The piste splits part way down, you can go either way, once the piste rejoins stop on the right hand side. You can lean your skis on the old stadle and walk down the path (100m) to the Findlerhof restaurant.
