This is an old mountain hut on the boarder with Italy. Upstairs you will find a bar where you can get drinks and delicious sandwiches or cakes. Downstairs is restaurant with simple but tasty Italian food. The tables and chairs are squashed in close but that just adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.
This is literally an Igloo village that gets built each winter. You can even stay the night here and sleep on sheepskin rugs. If you are popping by during the day you will find it great for quick drink and snack. The menu is limited to a cheese fondue if you want something more substantial to eat. In the spring they often have great music playing and the vibe is very chilled, lounging in deck chairs while you soak up the mountain views in the sunshine.

The speciality here is a whole chicken roasted over an open fire on the terrace. It’s not on the menu but is a perennial ‘dish of the day’.

Whether you ski red run 19 or walk the 35 minutes from Blauherd, you find yourself quite a distance from any of the lift infrastructure. In fact, the building was originally constructed as a base for climbers to stay before they embarked on an ascent of the 4000m peaks to the east.
Fluhalp has one of the largest terraces in the resort and the mountain views alone make it a worthwhile lunch stop.
