One of the best locations for a restaurant anywhere in the Alps. Situated beside the Tuftern piste (9) and with a view that could be soaked up for hours, this is a good stop after skiing from Blauherd or the Kumme piste from Rothorn. Unfortunately, the reputation of the gentlemen running the Tufternalp is one of uncaring aloofness combined with aggressive protection of their property should they think for a moment you might not be about to purchase refreshments. This combined with an uninspiring menu of local cheese and meat make it low down the list of lunch spots.
