Lovely restaurant just above Cervinia village, that still has a relaxed and local feel about it. The friendly and warm staff always make you feel welcome. The restaurant offers delicious food, particularly know for it’s food from the grill and it’s traditional polenta dishes. A cosy dining room in for the colder months and a great terrace in Spring make it’s good all winter, just be aware of leaving enough time to make the last lift back to Zermatt.
Great atmosphere, burgers and fun. This buzzy restaurant is perfect if you are looking for an upbeat vibe, easy lunch and a few drinks right under the south face of the Matterhorn. It’s huge red letters spelling LOVE is perfect for your instagram shot too 🙂
A great and well deserved lunch after the fantastic ski all the way to Val Tournenche, their farthest point in the Cervinia ski area. The restaurant is particularly loved by those who enjoy a wonderful south facing terrace in the spring. Real Aostan flavours and a fantastic wine list make this a hit with gourmet lovers too. Longer lift hours later in the season, also gives you plenty of time for your journey back to Zermatt. It’s a long way but well worth the visit.
Bontadini is a lovely Italian restaurant situated at the top of the Fornet chair (the second chair up from Plan Maison towards the Theodulpass). Upstairs you will find a bar and good self service restaurant, which is very often packed and has a fun buzz. Downstairs at the back you find a much smarter restaurant with huge windows, great food and lovely views of the mountains.
Chalet Etoile is a fabulous restaurant found on the side of the slopes as you ski down to Plan Maison, in Italy. The restaurant has been around since 1974 and is known for its delicious dishes and warm atmosphere. A favourite with VIPs and gourmet enthusiasts. The inside seating is perfect on a cold winters day and the terrace comes into it’s own in the Spring.
You’ll find this pizza restaurant right next to the self service at Trockener Steg. With plenty of pizza and pasta options this is a great stop for those in the area who are looking for a table service lunch.
A relaxed restaurant that is a lovely spot to enjoy a traditional Swiss lunch, great for fondue or a rösti followed by a delicious apple strudel. Those in the know would also recommend the tuna.
If you are looking for local, traditional and relaxed then Enzian is for you. Simple local dishes without fuss, and gorgeous mountain views.
One of the famous Findeln restaurants. Once you get past the famously gruff owner, you find yourself on a superb, large terrace with fabulous views. The main restaurant was renovated in recent years and has a more modern feel than rustic charm. The menu follows suit with a contemporary take on the traditional Swiss classic dishes. The speciality here is a whole chicken roasted over an open fire on the terrace. It’s not on the menu but is a perennial ‘dish of the day’.
Adlerhitta is host to numerous party events through the winter. Check their schedule for the Brazilian Samba party or end of season pond skim.
Run by the Matthiol Hotel, this mountain restaurant offers a fusion twist on traditional food. The setting under the North face of the Matterhorn is spectacular, offering a different view of the famous mountain.
